Then please join us as we welcome Flora Fraser for a Historians at Work lecture entitled “Flora MacDonald, Lord Nelson, and the Washingtons: Stories from the Royal Archives, Windsor Castle, and Mount Vernon,” on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at 4:00 p.m., at the William & Mary School of Education, Dogwood Room, 301 Monticello Avenue, Williamsburg.

Ms. Fraser will share her recent experiences as a researcher among the papers of the Georgian monarchs at the Royal Archives, Windsor Castle, and at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. Currently at work on two books—one on Scottish heroine Flora MacDonald and another on Lord Nelson’s life on shore and at sea—she is the 2017 Mount Vernon Georgian Papers Fellow and recipient of the 2016 George Washington Book Prize for her dual biography, The Washingtons: George and Martha—Join’d by Friendship, Crown’d by Love.
